He was predeceased by: his parents, Hazel Lorene Etheridge Tapp and Alex Cleburne Tapp Sr.; and his siblings, Bobbie Jean Tapp Hill, Melba Joyce Tapp Newman and Jerry Lee Tapp.

He is survived by: his wife Bernice McKinney Tapp; his daughters, Pamela (Jerry Kuechle) and Ronda (Byron Utz); his grandchildren, Aimee Kuechle Hill, Alden Utz, Mallory Kuechle Simmons, Alex Utz and Julian Utz; and his great grandchildren, Abigail Simmons and Cooper Simmons.
