He was predeceased by: his parents, Juanita Rodriguez Alvarado and Pedro Ruiz Armendariz; his sister Emilia Ruiz of Ovalle; and his nephew Matthew Ryan Ruiz. He is survived by: his children, Emilio Ray Ruiz of Houston and Rita Ruiz of Houston; his siblings, Pedro Ruiz Garza (Rossana) of Laredo, Reyna Padilla (Jose) of Guadalajara Mexico, Yadira Garcia (Santiago) of Fort Worth, Maria Ruiz Ruvalcaba (Roberto), Petra Ruiz Rodriguez, Maria Luisa Ruiz Rodriguez and Felipa Garcia (Ramon) of Converse; his granddaughter-in-law Natalie Salinas; and his grandsons, Nicolas and Isiah Ruiz.
