He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Jefferson Davis and Lillian Mittie Threadgill Davis; and his siblings, Lavinia Jean McKay, Peggy Joan Jackson, June Rose Sutherland and Howard Morris Davis.

He is survived by: his nephews, David McKay, Ricky Jackson and Darrell McKay; his niece Tammy Jackson Sanders; his daughters, Billinda (Lee Longino) and Mitzie Bledsue of Bristol; his grandchildren, Lee Ill (Nicole Longino), Lori Gonzales of Ferris, Waylon (Carolyn Longino), Rhealinda (Ricky Brobst), Heather (Motolani Ojo) and Lacie Bledsue (Zachary Ballas) of Cleburne; and his daughter Linda Brown Grissom of Ferris.
