With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Steven James Messerschmidt of Fate, Texas, born in Hinsdale, Illinois, who passed away on November 13, 2020 at the age of 68. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Messerschmidt and Anna Messerschmidt (Fritzel); and his brother Freddie. He is survived by: the mother of his children Marsha Mattes; his children, Laura Johnston (Marc), Tara Williams (Ryan), Amy Montgomery (Cameron), Lindsey Terdich (Craig) and Joe Messerschmidt; and his grandchildren, Peyton, Sam, Maddie, Emma, Max, Chase, Kyle, Ethan and Axl. He is also survived by six siblings, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
