He was predeceased by : his mother Luciana Castillo Tovar (Castillo); and his grandparents, Pedro Castillo, Lucas Tovar and Silvana Pecina Tovar. He is survived by : his father Ignacio Tovar; his grandmother Marcela Torres Castillo; his siblings, Martin Tovar (Maria), Evaristo Tovar, Gloria Tovar and Sylvia Tovar Livaudais (Nick); his nieces and nephews, Martin Tovar, Jr., Austin Livaudais, Alec Livaudais, Aven Livaudais, Blanca Tovar-Villasenor and Nayeli Tovar; and his great-niece Jocelyn Villasenor. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and great cousins.
