He is survived by: his wife Maria Ortega; his children, Ismael Ortega Jr., Miguel Ortega, Hilda Ortega Hernandez, Raquel Ortega Cruz and Silvia Amador; and his siblings, Joe Ortega, Lupe Estrada, Esteban Estrada, Luis Ortega, Nellie Ortega, Rocio Ortega, Magdalena Ortega and Kathy Ortega. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 1st 2025 at 12:00 PM at 2711 Cookscreek Pl, Farmers Branch, TX 75234. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, January 1st 2025 at 6:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Thursday, January 2nd 2025 at 9:00 AM and at 9:15 AM at the DFW National Cemetery (2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas, TX 75211).
