He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Otis Bufkin, Sr. and Anne Marie Bufkin (Phillips); his brother Thomas Bufkin of Jackson; his former wife Joan Bufkin (Tobias) of Ocean Springs; and his girlfriend Liz Walters.

He is survived by: his children, Shari Nelson (Karl) of Dallas, Mark Bufkin (Linda) of Cranford and Renée Bufkin (Gabe) of Reno; his grandchildren, Madeline, Audrey, Emily, Hawkeye, Meadowlark, Thorne, Floriane, Olivia and Ava; and his nephews, Gerry, Ted, Patrick, Christopher and Michael.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Ed's memory to The 24 Hour Club in Dallas.
