He was predeceased by: his parents, Owen Ketchersid and Bessie Ketchersid; his sister Ruby Nell Ketchersid Loe; and his son Allen Ketchersid. He is survived by: his daughter Elizabeth; his wife Verlen Ketchersid; his children, Karla Kindberg, Tim Ketchersid and John Ketchersid; his granddaughter Elizabeth Denn; his daughter Vivian Smith; and his sister Nancy Brown. He is also survived by twenty-five grandchildren and thirty-eight great-grandchildren.

He was involved in the Farmers Branch and Metrocrest Chambers of Commerce, Lifeline Chaplaincy, the Annual Red Ribbon Event, the C-FBISD (the local school district) Foundation, the Rotary Club.
