She was predeceased by: her parents, Mattie Mae Alexander and John William True; her husband Rev. Leonard Garrett; her sisters, Ruth Anderson and Treva Wright; and her great grandchild Elphaba Ray Espinosa.
She is survived by: her daughters, Penny Rossman Espinosa (Raul), Virginia Rossman Jarzombek (Michael) and DeeAine Rossman Watson (Alan); her grandchildren, Lynda Espinosa Lind (Myron), Edward Espinosa (Audrey), Gregory Jarzombek (Luyi), Cordell Jarzombek (Rebecca), Courtland Johnson (Danielle), Emily Johnson and Ashley Meeks; her great grandchildren, Myles, Tyler Lind and Mathilda Jarzombek; her stepchildren, Ann Garrett Kaiser, Lane Garrett, Celeste Garrett and Edwin Garrett; and her sister June True Neatherlin. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
