He was predeceased by: his parents, Talmage Dewitt and Lema Rebecca Donaldson Pickens; his wife Mary Frances Freeman; his son Stanley Wayne Pickens; and his siblings, D. H. Pickens and Virgie Hall.
He is survived by: his sons, Walter Talmage Pickens (Mabel) of Teague, Larry Joe Pickens (Rosemary) of Oakwood and Jerry David Pickens of Fairfield; and his sister Dorothy Evans of Teague. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 17 great-great-grandchildren.
