He was predeceased by: his son John Layton; his grandson-in-law Taylor Steiner; and his brother-in-law Doug Nettle. He is survived by: his wife Sarah Evenda Layton of Teague; his daughter Sarah Layton McDonald (Gregg) of Tomball; his grandchildren, Michaela Millender (Carson) and Carson Tomalin (Lindsay); his great grandchild Layton Tomalin; his grandchildren, Makenzie Bulls (Barrett), Taylor Steiner, Alyson McDonald and Ryleigh Layton; his siblings-in-law, Don Nettle (Shirley) and Pam Nettle; and his nieces, Laurie Ankarlo (Darrell) and Paula Layton Barnes (Gaylen).
