He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, C. L. Burks and Bettie Mae Burks (Johnston); his wife Sherry; his son Chad (Kelli); his stepson Mark Hodges; his grandchildren, Nathan Owen (Lindsey), Jaedyn, Larame, Aubrey, Harper and Scarlett; his sister Ann McClendon; his nieces, Kelly and Vickie of New Mexico; his mother-in-law Jean Walker of Houston; his siblings-in-law, Vivian Walker of Spring, Jean Ann Flores of Houston and Craig Walker of Galveston; and his friends, Bobbie (Frog) and Gail Bridges. He was also cherished by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In October he contracted Covid.
