He was predeceased by: his parents, Ola Mae and Horace Burgess; and his sister Estelle Aikens. He is survived by: his son David A. Burgess; and his siblings, Glennie Vokoun, Darlene Hughes (Randy) of Melbourne, FL, Dicky Burgess (DeAnn) of Olive Branch, MS and Ricky Burgess of Melbourne, FL. He is also survived by six nieces and five nephews.
