He was predeceased by: his parent Faustina Zapata; and his half-brother Alfonso Castillo. He is survived by: his wife Lorraine Castillo; his children, Elizabeth Perez (Timothy), Daniel Castillo Jr., Tony Castillo (Kristy) and Julia Taylor (Lance); his grandchildren, Melissa, Yvonne, Cole and Morgan; and his siblings, Frank Castillo, Lupe Garcia and Toni Lozano. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held on Monday, April 21st 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the Ebensberger Fisher Funeral Home (1265 N Main St, Boerne, TX 78006). A committal service was held on Monday, April 21st 2025 from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery (1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, TX 78209).
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Disabled American Veterans or The Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, two causes that held a special place in Daniel's heart.
