He was predeceased by: his father Charley Elam; his wife Catherine Austin; his son Charles Austin Elam; his sister Mildred Elam Manning; and his grandson Chris Elam Comer.
He is survived by: his daughter Linda Kay Comer of Evant; his grandson Charles (Krissy); his great grandchildren, Charlie, Caroline and Cort; and his nephew Curtis Manning (Joyce).
In lieu of flowers, memorials have been designated to his grandson's scholarship fund, Chris Elam Comer Scholarship Trust, P.O. Box 306, Evant, Texas 76525.
