He was predeceased by: his parents, Kermit Kovar and Louise Kovar; his wife Robbie Kovar; his siblings, Joe Kovar, Louise Valek and Ruth Moore; and his nephew Andy Blazek.
He is survived by: his former wife Mary Cates; his children, Deniese Cates, Steve Kovar, Jr. and Robbie Edwards; his granddaughters, Belinda Edwards and Elizabeth Edwards; his sister Polly Blazek (Robert); and his brother-in-law Kenneth Moore. He is also survived by extended family and friends.
