He was predeceased by: his father Troy L. Tignor; and his brother Marvin E. Tignor Sr.. He is survived by: his wife Charole Tignor; his mother Mary F. Tignor; his sister Mary L. Tignor; his brother-in-law George Reynolds; his sons, Joe Perez, Tim Barnard, Bobby Barnard and Sonny Perez; and his niece Sara Crider. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, five great-grandchildren as well as five nieces and nephews.
