Benny Hanks Obituary
We are sad to announce that on September 23, 2023, at the age of 87, Benny Hanks (Emory, Texas) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his wife Patsy Jane Hanks; his parents, Dee Granville Hanks and Eula Cuba Hanks; and his siblings, Loraine Talley, Harvey Loyd Hanks, Edna May Brown, Myra Jo Davis, Annie Caroline, Granville Otis Hanks and Cleveland Hanks.
He is survived by: his children, Curtis Earl Hanks, Kephen Ray Hanks and Jan Rena Heitzman; his grandchildren, Maranda Jill Opry, Chelby Taylor Hanks, Brooke Rena Payne and Chet Alexander Page; and his great grandchildren, Ian Opry, Vincent Opry and Willow Payne. He is also survived by his family, friends.
He was an owner of Farmers Mutual before making a significant contribution to the transportation infrastructure of Emory by playing a pivotal role in the establishment of the Go Bus service.
