He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Stephens and Helen Stephens; his sisters, Jewel Lewis and Thressa Hunter; his sons, Edwin Robinson and Acie Jr. Tell; and his grandchild Tavares Tell.
He is survived by: his wife Sherry Ann Jackson; his daughters, Margaret Taylor (Lesley), Helen Bailey (Jeff), Lovie Coney and Charlotte Steenson (Steve); his stepchildren, Roy Tell (Pam), Wendy Rodriguez and Shalanda Bensinger (Antoine); and his siblings, Charles Hunter, Travis Hunter, Fred Hunter, Margie Frazier, Jannie Mae Stephens (Roy), Ruthie Jackson and Luverta Mae Hunter. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
