He was predeceased by: his parents, Victor Zavala and Marciana Zavala; his wife Irma Zavala; and his siblings, Guadalupe Guzman (Lupe), Rafaela Zavala (Fela), Norfilia Lopez and Martin Zavala.
He is survived by: his children, Roberto Zavala (Eneida), Norma Vargas (Noel), Thelma Zavala and Dalia Zavala; his grandchildren, Xavier Zavala (Melinda), Crystal Lightfoot (Preston), Melissa Vargas, Marcos Zavala, Nina Montalvo (Ricky), Christopher Vargas, Vincente Zavala (Katie), Rene Flores, Lee Flores, Sergio Araiza, Megan Arellano (KC) and Noel Roman; his niece Laura Olivares; and his brothers, Eloy, Refugio Zavala (Kina) and Antonio Zavala (Lulu). He is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren, and two great great-grandchildren.
