He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Grones and Emilie Grones (Gerlich); and his siblings, Irene Kallus, Paul, Edward, Raymond and Arnold Grones.
He is survived by: his wife Delores Grones of Elm Mott; his children, Kevin Grones (Helen) and Rene Kolar (Adolph) of West; his stepchildren, Richard Bowen (Melanie), Donna Bowen and Janet Bowen Notes (Randy); his grandchildren, Tonya Kolar, Janna Roller (Andy), Patricia Hajovsky (Christopher) and Eddie Kaluza; his great grandchildren, Kaleb Kaluza, Emmalie Kaluza, Madelyn Kolar and Mallory Roller; his stepgrandchildren, Matthew (Jessica), Kara, Nicole, Heather, Odessa, Sequoia, Jackson, Maddie and Lily; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Hayden and Forrest; and his sister-in-law Clara Grones. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Waco Humane Society.
