It is with great sadness that we announce the death of William Gerald DeShazo of Elkhart, Texas, who passed away on March 8, 2025, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the sacred silence of farewell, William Gerald is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that his light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of his loved ones. And as his memory is carried forward, may comfort be found in the knowledge that love is eternal, and that William Gerald's spirit lives on in the beauty that surrounds us.
He was predeceased by: his parents, William Luther DeShazo and Lena Mae Ward DeShazo; his wife Veda Marie Coleman DeShazo; and his brother James Derwin DeShazo. He is survived by: his children, William Kent DeShazo and Debra Suzanne Hudson; and his grandchildren, Amy Plocek, Laura VanderVoort, William DeShazo and Peggy Paul. He is also survived by 10 great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 15th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Myrtle Springs Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that any memorial donations or contributions be made to The Shriners Hospital for Children.
