He was predeceased by: his parents, Jessie Hamby and Hazel Hamby; his brothers, Charles Richard Hamby, Gary Earl Hamby and Ricky Joe Hamby; his siblings-in-law, Mitchell Blackmon and Jackie Hamby; his sons, Ted Lee Hoke and Michael Fleming; his grandson Jason Dwain Bolton; and his children-in-law, Pete Werner and Debra Robbins.
He is survived by: his wife Ruby Allene Bearden Hamby; his sister Susie Blackmon (Craig) of Rusk; and his children, James Eckerd Hamby (Connie) of Minden, LA., Danny Robbins of Laneville, Tracy Hamby (Nikki) of Elkhart, Janice Hamby of Zavalla, Gwen Oakley (Dave) of Imperial, NE and Marilyn Bolton (Dwain) of Jacksonville. He is also survived by nineteen grandchildren, thirty-four great grandchildren, and eight great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
