He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, John Henry Manning, Sr. and Annie Elizabeth Alderman Manning; his siblings, Sue Marie Cain, John Henry, Jr., David Manning and Billy Ray Manning; his wife Melissa "Jean" Manning; his children, Cynthia Kaye Young (Eddie) of Elkhart, Texas, Anita "Gayle" Rogers (Lowell) of Elkhart, Texas and Charles Preston Manning (Ann) of Asheville; and his grandchildren, Leo James "Jamie" Beck, Kevin Wayne Marak, Jason Leith Beck, Eric Wayne Marak, Christopher Wayne Marak and Sarah Elizabeth Sparrowhawk. He was also cherished by fourteen great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, and lifelong friends.
