She is survived by: her mother Delois Simms Baker; her children, Crystal Clemons, Victoria Wills (David), Aaron Clemons and Jakuri McLaurin (Rachel); her brother Eric Thompson (Ronda); her goddaughters, Latasha Young and Latasha Wilson; and her close friend Carol Wilson. She is also survived by nineteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, February 20th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Elgin Funeral Home (712 N Avenue C, Elgin, TX 78621). A celebration of life was held on Friday, February 21st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Life Family Church of Bastrop (1096 State Hwy 71, Bastrop, TX 78602). A burial was held on Friday, February 21st 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Shiloh Cemetery of Bastrop (408 Shiloh Rd, Bastrop, TX 78602).
Rose's remarkable contributions to the city of Bastrop included, but were not limited to, the Juneteenth Committee, the African American History Museum, and the class of 1979 reunion committee.
