He is survived by: his wife Patricia Adams; his children, Scott Allen Martin (Tammy), Leah Claire Douglas (Cody), Kathryn Julia Sloma (David) and Joseph Wilder Martin; his siblings, Gordon "Bubba" Martin and Betty Lynn Meyer; his sisters-in-law, Elaine Martin and Rose Mary Zamzow; his grandchildren, Will Martin (Mollie), Jenna Martin (Brooks Namken), Peyton Martin Standifer (Cole), Brady Douglas, Addison Douglas, Mia Douglas and Jackson Sloma; and his caregiver Linda Garcia.
A rosary will be held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 6:30 PM at the Elgin Funeral Home (712 N Avenue C, Elgin, TX 78621). Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 17th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Elgin (302 W 11th St, Elgin, TX 78621). A burial will be held on Friday, January 17th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Youngs Priarie Cemetery (134 Youngs Prairie Rd, Elgin, TX 78621).
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Elgin, Texas designated for the purchase of pews in the new church.
