She was predeceased by: her parents, Harvey Scott and Carrie Scott; her former husband William "Bill" Schmidt; her husband Thomas Ries; and her siblings, Jewel Anderson, Mary Bryan, Lucille Jones, Dixie Wilson, Ruth Ell Bennett and Ollie Scott.
She is survived by: her daughters, Linda Ann Jackson and Sheila (David Harrison); her grandchildren, Anthony Trent Jackson (Patty), Sissie Ann Jackson and Justin Wesley Moore (Katelin); her stepgrandchildren, Julie Lee, Jenny De La Rosa (Erik) and Marc Harrison; her great grandchildren, Marissa (Anthony Lopez), Nicole, Hannah, Eric, Bobby Montoya, Chris Jackson (Hunter), Madison Leigh and William Wesley Moore; her stepgreat-grandchildren, Avery, Emerson, Grant Lee, Eva, Lillian and Eleanor De La Rosa; and her great great grandchildren, Jace Lopez, Kamyrn and Dawson Jackson. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.
Visitation was held on Sunday, February 16th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Elgin Funeral Home (712 N Avenue C, Elgin, TX 78621). A repast was held on Monday, February 17th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the St. Peters Lutheran Church of Elgin (401 E 8th St, Elgin, TX 78621). A celebration of life was held on Monday, February 17th 2025 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, February 17th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Cook-Walden Capital Park of Pflugerville (14501 N Interstate Hwy 35, Pflugerville, TX 78660).
In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contribution can be made in Alma's Memory to St. Peters Lutheran Church in Elgin, Texas and Hospice Austin Christopher House, reflecting Alma's devotion to her community and support for those in need.
