He was predeceased by: his parents, Andres Mijarez and Elisa Barraza; and his siblings, Socorro Mijarez, Lilia Mijarez, Elisa Mijarez, Rita Mijarez, Andres Mijarez, Antonio Mijarez, Manuel Mijarez and Tomas Mijarez.
He is survived by: his wife Elvira L. Mijarez; his children, Grace Marquez (Sam), Sylvia Wilson (Brad), Elvira Gonzales (Joe) and Vicente Mijarez Jr. (Liliana); his sister Carmen Carranza; and his grandchildren, Melissa Ceballos (Florencio), Priscilla Castillo (Antonio), William Wilson (Aleise), Michael Wilson (Claudia), Joseph Gonzales, Joshua Mijarez (Elizabeth) and Sarah Mijarez (Martin). He is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, March 6th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Sunset Funeral Homes - West (480 Resler Dr, El Paso, TX 79912). A rosary was held on Thursday, March 6th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass was held on Friday, March 7th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the San Martin de Porres (1885 McNutt Rd, Sunland Park, NM 88063). A graveside service was held on Friday, March 7th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Memory Gardens of the Valley Cemetery (4900 McNutt Rd, Santa Teresa, NM 88008).
