Robert Nevarez Obituary
On November 21, 2021, Robert John (Bobby) Nevarez went home to be with our Lord Jesus Christ and our Heavenly Father at the age of 61 years. On November 7, 1960, Bobby was born to Joe Nevarez, Jr. and Amelia Montes in El Paso, Texas. He was the fourth of five brothers, with Michael, David, and Joe III (Joey) being his older brothers, and Adrian being the youngest of the five. Bobby was predeceased by his parents, and his brothers Joe and Adrian, and survived by his brothers, Michael and David. He is also survived by his nephews and nieces from Michael- Christopher Michael and Annette Nicole; from David- David Anthony, Jacqueline Yvette and Jennifer Noel; and, from Joe- Hannah Celeste and Amanda Monique.
As a native of historic Sunset Heights in El Paso, he attended Vilas Elementary School and El Paso High School before attending Amarillo College in Amarillo, Texas, and earning his degree of Bachelor of Business Administration from Baylor University in Waco, Texas.
After his formal education, Bobby served as a licensed insurance adjuster, a legal assistant and law office administrator. However, it was as an educator with the El Paso Independent School system in his latter years during which time he was most content and influential. Bobby touched the lives many high school students, teachers, and administrators with his positive influence, caring attention, and fruitful service that came with a witty sense of humor and contagious smile.
He continued his connection as a true Tiger of El Paso High throughout the years by being active as an officer and member of the El Paso High Alumni Association. It was there that he established lasting friendships with El Paso High School graduates from several decades. Prior to their passing to be present with the Lord on November 14, 2021, and November 21, 2021, respectively, Joey and Bobby were planning to embark in their venture with Tiger Realm, LLC, a production company focused on promoting El Paso High School’s history and unique influence in our city, state, and nation.
Whether at home, at church, at school, or in the community, Bobby was as a light in a darkened world, and as the salt of the earth, stemming from him believing and abiding in the Lord Jesus Christ. He will be greatly missed, but one with whom we will rejoice as he abides in his heavenly abode. Bobby will always be remembered as a joyful gentleman with a contagious smile, quick sense of humor, and an affectionate heart. As for his family, Bobby will always be remembered as a loving son, brother, and uncle.
