He was predeceased by: his parents, Salvador Pinela and Rafaela Pinela; his wife Gloria; and his siblings, Luis Gonzalez, Jesus Gonzalez, Manuel Gonzalez, Salvador Pinela Jr., Margarita Minjarez and Soledad Aguirre.

He is survived by: his sisters, Gloria Terrazas and Connie Romero (Gonzalo Romero). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
