Gloria (Soto) Guzman Obituary
Gloria Soto Guzman, age 85 passed away Thursday, May 28, 2020. She is survived by her children, Arturo Guzman (Gloria), Graciela Fajardo (Frank), Elizabeth Drouillard (Robert), Steve Guzman, Rosanne Enriquez (Javier). She was preceded in death by her husband, Ismael Guzman, and their infant son, Mike. Grandma will be remembered by 11 grandchildren, Mark Guzman, Salina Guzman, Zachary Lopez, Justine Lopez, Tammy Russell, Tim Drouillard, Iliana Frintner, Abbygale Cain, Alyssa Guzman, Kelli Reed and Stephen Enriquez, 14 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandson and her brother, Rafael Soto.
Gloria was a life longtime resident of El Paso. She was a member of Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church. She taught her family to love God and to serve their church and community ministries. She served as president of the Altar Society for many years and volunteered in countless ministries.
Gloria was well known for her beautiful floral arrangements and loved all types of flowers, she enjoyed preparing meals for holidays and especially football games. She was a dedicated Green Bay Packer and UTEP Miner fan. She enjoyed her bunco group, her volunteer service at Sierra Hospital and gathering her grandchildren for over the summers.
Her niece. Irma Rodriguez, gave her loving care over the many years of her life. In her final months. Carmen Perez and Carla Acosta provide care to help Gloria remain in her home. A special thank you to Martha Gonez-Leon and Ms. Mayela Campos Foster Care Home who provided loving care in her final days. The family is grateful to all who cared for their mom.
The viewing will take place on Wednesday, June 3, from 1 to 4 pm at Hillcrest Funeral Home on 1060 N Carolina Drive, with rosary beginning at 2 pm. Burial will be on Thursday, June 4, at 9 am at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. A memorial mass will be announced at a later date.
