She was predeceased by: her parents, James Whitaker and Noema Trevino; and her son Maxie Soto Jr.. She is survived by: her husband Maximo Soto; her daughter Monica Lisa Soto; and her siblings, James Whitaker, Micaela Leticia Merchant, Patricia Whitaker, Maria Alvessa Whitaker, Ana Solis and Joy Francis Esparza.

A rosary will be held on Thursday, May 1st 2025 at 7:00 PM at the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church (131 S Zaragoza Rd, El Paso, TX 79907). A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 2nd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:15 AM at the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church (131 S Zaragoza Rd, El Paso, TX 79907). A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 2nd 2025 at 11:15 AM at the Mount Carmel Cemetery (401 S Zaragoza Rd, El Paso, TX 79907, USA).
