He was predeceased by: his parents, Sophus Michaelsen and Maren Methea Michaelsen (Strarup); his wife Isabelle Michaelsen (Hubenak); and his siblings, Arlene Juranek and Martin Michaelsen.
He is survived by: his children, Melaney Bullard (Bobby Bullard Jr.) of El Campo and Kenneth Michaelsen (Amy) of El Campo; his grandchildren, Lindsay Bullard, Kristi Kocian (Robby), Chase Bullard (Haley), Kara Michaelsen and Todd Korenek; his great grandchildren, Devon, Danielle, Dylan Earls, Payton Kocian, Isabelle Bullard, Paige and Rhett Kocian; and his sister Lavon Bowen.
Memorial donations in memory of Vergil may be made to the El Campo Ricebird Booster Club or donor's choice.
