He is survived by: his mother Mary E Abelar; his wife Emma Medina; his siblings, Agatha Pratt (Lothario), Susie Abelar (Marvin), David Canales (Gracie), Robert Abelar, Martin Abelar, James Abelar (Carol), Adam Abelar and Mike Abelar (Priscilla); his stepdaughter Crystal Vega (Kayla Cantu); and his grandson Logan Cantu.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 10th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Wheeler Funeral Home (612 W Jackson St, El Campo, TX 77437). A rosary was held on Friday, January 10th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the Wheeler Funeral Home Chapel (612 W Jackson St, El Campo, TX 77437). A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 at 11:15 AM at the Memories Cemetery.
