He was predeceased by: his parents, Alvino Valdez and Angelina Solis Pulido; his stepfather Aristeo Pulido; his children, Eddie Gene Valdez and Alice Marie Valdez; his sister Juanita Valdez Guia; his nephew Pete Guia Jr. (Popi); and his pet Todd.
He is survived by: his nieces, Lupe Collins (Mario Escamilla) of El Campo and Jo Ann Lule of Bay City; his nephew Anthony Guia of Bay City; and his brother-in-law Pete Guia Sr. of Bay City. He is also survived by numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
