He is survived by: his wife Linda Sanders Courtney; his daughters, Christi Lea Courtney, Michelle Rene Courtney Schendel (Dean), Carlyle Ashcroft, Stacey L. Kmiec and Wendy L. Valenta (Scott); his grandchildren, Jeffrey Galleymore (Sabrina), Zachary Galleymore, Danielle Smith (Lukas), Kyler Valenta (Sonya), Megan Kmiec, Shaelyn and Hanna Schendel; his great grandchildren, Joshua, Theodore, Finley Smith, Raelynn and Laney Galleymore; his son Rudy; and his brother Dale Allen Courtney.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the Coastal Conservation Association of Texas and the Amyloidosis Foundation.
