It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Charles Edward Maerz (El Campo, Texas), who passed away on January 16, 2025, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Lucas Maerz and Minnie Alice Lutringer Maerz; and his brother Lucas Maerz Jr.. He is survived by: his niece Sheryl Thonsgaard (James); his great-nieces, Courtney Prenzler (Matt) and Ally Hubbell (Keaton); his extended family, Mike and Kimberly Couvillion; his cousin Lois Dorris; and also, Mattie Belle Prenzler, Evelyn Hubbell, Korie, Kyler and Kenedy. He is also survived by several other cousins and god-children.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to Erin Marie Thonsgaard Memorial Fund at First State Bank, St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church, or Houston Hospice of El Campo.
