He was predeceased by: his father Leroy Hunter; and his brother-in-law Lawrence Dorotik. He is survived by: his wife Jeanette Krpec Hunter of El Campo; his daughters, Kristi Granger (Robert) of Katy and Jill Castro (Arnold) of Sugar Land; his grandchildren, Sydney Granger of Katy, Jordan Kulcak of Sugar Land, Hailey Kulcak of Sugar Land, Austin Castro of Sugar Land and Riley Castro of Sugar Land; and his sister Phyllis Dorotik of El Campo.

Memorial donations in memory of Carl may be made to the El Campo Volunteer Fire Department.
