He was predeceased by: his parents, Larry J. Buchanan and Rose Marie Buchanan; and his sister Valorie Watson. He is survived by: his wife Janis Lorene Buchanan; his stepsons, T. J. Dickey and Dakota Dickey; and his siblings, Larry Joe Buchanan (Barbara) and Jacqueline Garner (Calvin). He is also survived by nine nieces and nephews and seventeen great-nieces and nephews.
