She was predeceased by: her parents, Simon Harrison Unger and Betty Koop Unger; her siblings, Charles Unger and Donna Marie Holm; and her daughter Wendy Colette Smiga Kirk.
She is survived by: her husband Kenneth Smiga; her children, Jenny Smiga and Lance (Sara); her grandchildren, Quintin Ross Kirk (Alyssa Gonzales Kirk), Bailey Elizabeth Kirk, Harrison Meade Smiga and Amelia Ann Smiga; her sisters, Marsha Vaughn (Billy) and Jeannie Owens (Ray); and her sisters-in-law, Sherri Unger and Susan Smiga.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Redeemer Lutheran Church.
