He is survived by: his wife Amelia Hernandez Zarate; his daughters, Shawn Zarate, Michael DelosSantos and Letecia Zarate; his siblings, Mary Herrera, Jane Pena, Theresa Benavides (Candido), Margie Mendoza (Jose), Yolanda Robson (Michael), Jimmy Zarate (Sylvia) and Frank Zarate (Angie); his grandson Manuel Adrian Zarate; his father Michael Petering; and also Daniel Jose Zarate. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
