He is survived by: his fighting Aggie of Texas; his favorite pastime raising Beefmaster; his wife Mary Ann Weiss; his children, Russell Bitter, Janet (Donald Collins), Michael (Liliana Bitter), Barbara (Vince Terracina), Dr. John (Monicka Bitter), Carol Bitter (Yanis Papagiannis), Patrick (Paige Bitter), Sarah Bitter, Stephen (Rebecca Bitter), Smyth (Tony Johansson), Catherine Bitter, Mary Ann Bitter (Matt Hobbs) and Dr. Joella Bitter (John Doughton); his grandchildren, Charles, Emily, Claire, Michael, Peter, Joella, Christopher, Liliana Marie, Jonathan, Thomas, Cecilia, Grace, Nicholas, Camille, Jacob, Lucas, Travis, Danae, Amidas, Chloe, Samuel, Alex, Austin, Marilyn, Cora, Joseph, Anna, Eve, Nora, Theo, Leo and Isaac; his siblings, Priscilla (John Lupe) and James L. (Terri Bitter); his siblings-in-law, Kay Bitter and Ted (Ann Weiss); and his nieces and nephews, Tracy Bitter Pressly, Amy Bitter Scheiber, Joella Lupe Mach, William Lupe, James Bitter Steves, David, Elizabeth, John and James Weiss.
