He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Schmidt and Nelda Schmidt. He is survived by: his wife Edna R. Schmidt; and his sons, Daryl Schmidt (Brenda) and Darren Schmidt (Cindy).

Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church in Rosenberg.
