He was predeceased by: his parents, Julio Tijerina and Herlinda Tijerina. He is survived by: his wife Maria Ordaz Tijerina; his children, Samuel Tijerina Jr. (Michelle), Hazel L. Tijerina, Julio C. Tijerina (Diana), Efren Tijerina (Alejandra) and Rosanna L. Tijerina; and his siblings, Arnold Tijerina, Zita Tijerina, Jose Tijerina, Alberta Tijerina and Juan Tijerina. He is also survived by twenty grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
