With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Robert S. Urey Jr. of Edinburg, Texas, who passed away on February 16, 2025 at the age of 83. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert S. Urey Sr. and Helen Urey; his stepmother Sarah Urey; and his siblings, Ken Urey and Rae Urey.
He is survived by: his wife Maria Dolores Urey; his children, Paula Marie Funderburk (Robert), Stephanie Wright (Allen), Georgia Urey, Michelle Greene (Lorne), Robert Shaw and Robin Urey; his grandchildren, Kaitlynn Funderburk, Bonnie Ott (Jordan), Alex Bruening (Bryan), Simon Corizine, Andrew Corizine, Dixie Smart (Grant) and LJ Greene (Amanda); his great grandchildren, Blake, Emerson, Koral, Killian and Amelia; and his sisters, Rita Shotzberger and Lisa Grossmann. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 24th 2025 at 5:00 PM at the Memorial Funeral Home - Edinburg (208 E Canton Rd, Edinburg, TX 78539). A rosary will be held on Monday, February 24th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 25th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at the Holy Family Catholic Church (1302 E Champion St, Edinburg, TX 78539). A burial will be held on Tuesday, February 25th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery (2520 Inspiration Rd, Mission, TX 78572).
