He was predeceased by: his brother Pedro Muniz. He is survived by: his parents, Miguel Muniz and Lucy Muniz; his children, Richard Muniz Jr., Melissa Muniz and Judy Rosas (Rosendo); his siblings, Mike Muniz (Ester), Prudencio Muniz (Sonia), Andy Muniz (Edna), Frank Muniz (Dara), Frances Anita Rivera (Jose), Diana Muniz (Jim Archie) and Monica Morin (Frank); and his sister-in-law Paloma Muniz. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; numerous nephew, nieces, family and friends.
