It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Rene L. Castellanos Sr. of Edinburg, Texas, who passed away on February 3, 2023, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Refugio Castellanos and Hilaria Leal; and his sister Maria Belia C. Barrera. He is survived by: his wife Elida A. Castellanos; his children, Rosemary Mireles (Joe), Rene Castellanos Jr. (Leigh), Rosalinda Castellanos, Refugio Castellanos II, Rosalie Ornelas (Joey) and Robert Castellanos; and his cousins, Saida Castellanos Saucedo and Jose Castellanos. He is also survived by nine grandchildren.
