She is survived by: her children, Rene Barrera Jr. (Norma), Cynthia Barrera Uresti, Leticia Barrera, Joel Javier "Jay" Barrera, Agustin E. "Pinio" Barrera, Melissa A. Barrera Avila (Rene) and Michelle R. Barrera Rodriguez (Mark). She is also survived by 19 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 31st 2025 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Memorial Funeral Home - Edinburg (208 E Canton Rd, Edinburg, TX 78539). A memorial service was held on Friday, January 31st 2025 from 6:00 PM to 6:30 PM at the same location. A rosary was held on Friday, January 31st 2025 from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, February 4th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM at the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery (1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, TX 78209).
