He is survived by: his children, Fermin Serna Jr. (Elizabeth Garza), Leo Serna (Adela Pena), Abel Serna, Sandra Serna, Jorge Serna (Miranda) and Alejandra Serna; and his siblings, Lydia Cantu, Olga Balderas, Ofelia Serna, Luis Serna, Alfredo Serna and Benito Serna. He is also survived by twelve granchildren and three great-grandchildren.
