He was predeceased by: his parents, Eutimio Cantu and Margarita Cantu; and his siblings, Nila Cantu, Panchita Cantu and Braulio Cantu.

He is survived by: his children, Cesar Eutimio Cantu (Elia Gonzalez), Laura Guadalupe Cantu, Veronica Yanet Estrella (Jose Luis) and Marco Antonio Cantu (Gabriela); and his sister Juanita Hernandez (Antonio). He is also survived by twelve grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
